Still on the road, but...

We are still on the road, many things had changed in the last 12 month, we bought a Toyota Land Cruiser, build a trailer for it to carry our two motorcycles...one motorcycle is almost dead, after the guy in Thailand crashed into one of our motorcycles, the fixed engine and steering head thread is almost done now, as the engine is a part of the frame on the R1100GS, it starts to be a wobbly adventure just to sit on this bike. Now the subframe is mounted on 3 bolts only and starts to crack again, the front rim is still OK but not perfect straight, sad to see the bike is dying after 225.000Km. I do my best like I always did for this beemer to keep it alive, at some point I have to say goodbye, I will try to ship it to a friend or to find a storage for my ride. I'm not parting it out or sell it! To much emotions for this big baby.
It's a big job and costs us to much now to fix everything, it needs a new motor housing... the time is running and our visa in Canada expires soon. I already sold my 1996 Sportster in Switzerland to have more savings for our trip, it's not enough for a new ride I guess... we will see.
long story short, life is good and we are very busy.

We are to busy and somehow to lazy to continue our blog right know. Working and traveling across Canada, this is one of couple things keep us busy.

The winter in Ontario, Canada is coming.

Today I had to buy some snow tires for the winter in Ontario. After crossing Canada in the last 10 month from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia than back to New Brunswick with the ferry to Godbout, Quebec and Toronto, Ontario. We did all in one about 18.000Km in Canada. We are staying the winter time in Ontario or Quebec, depends on where I (Patricius) get a job during the winter, I have a one year work&travel visa for Canada.

Interesting to see the difference to all 3 tires.We will see how they are in the snow. Cheers!

Heute musste ich einfach Winterreifen für den kommenden Winter in Ontario kaufen. In den letzten 10 monaten durchquerten wir Kanada von Ost nach West und ein Stück wieder zurück, dabei wurden  etwa 18.000Km abgespult. In Ontario oder Quebec wollen wir den Winter verbringen, es kommt darauf an wo ich (Patricius) Arbeit finde, habe das einjährige Reise&Arbeitsvisum für Kanada.

Interessant ist auch der Grössenunterschied zwischen den drei Reifen zu sehen. Mal schauen wie sie sich im Winter machen. Prost!

After a crazy guy crashed in Buriram, Thailand into my BMW, here the low budget rebuilt of my BMW R1100GS MadMax Adventure... ;)  I have to finish some details...
Luckly nothing bad happend to me, but this guy did not have a insurance...no money for me :(

Nachdem ein verrückter Typ in Buriram, Thailand in mich reingedonnert ist, hier die Sparversion der Wiederausbau's meiner BMW R1100GS MadMax ;)  Ich muss noch einpaar Details fertigmachen.
Zum Glück ist mir nichts passiert, aber der Typ hatte keine Versicherung...kein Geld für mich.

Troubles with the Hall Effefect Sensor - BMW R1100GS

In May 2015, we are again in Laos, and the R1100GS began to strike. Without diagnostic device drove the search for the error almost to madness .. The Hall sender was the cause and could be repaired on site, as I did it with little or no existing tools and spare parts you can see in the video.

Im Mai 2015 sind wir erneut in Laos, und die R1100GS fing an zu streicken. Ohne Diagnose Gerät trieb die Suche nach dem Fehler fast schon zum Wahnsinn.. Der Hallgeber war die Ursache und konnte vor Ort repariert werden, wie ich es ohne grosse bzw. nicht vorhandenen Hilfsmittel und Ersatzteilen geschafft habe siehst Du im Video.

New Projekt in Buriram - Neues Projekt in Buriram

Man könnte hier nicht vor Langeweile reden...wir haben mehr als genug zu tun. Es ist eher "just for fun"
Heute (09.06.2015) fingen wir an einer Yamaha XS750 den defekten Motor auszubauen, und haben dann kurz nach Mitternacht Feierabend gemacht. Dann erzählte mir Mac das sein Kumpel in Pattaya zwei BMW K100RS im für ein geiles Projekt geben würde, falls er eine gute Idee für einen Umbau hat...mein Hirn überlegte keine Minute und dann kam mir das schweizer Kabinen Motorrad in den Sinn dass einen BMW Motorrad Motor verbaut hat.
Ihm lies der Gedanke keine Ruhe und so setzten wir die ersten Schritte in der gleichen Nacht um :D Siehe Fotos. Masse wurden aus Foto entnommen, daraus ein Massstab ausgerechnet und so kommen wir auf einen Radstand von ca. 296cm.

THE CHARITY RUN for kids in Vietnam

Der Charity Run ging auch im vietnamesischen TV rum.

We start the Charity Run at 2:00AM in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. 

 

 We arrived at 8:00AM at the school.

 Thanks to all bikers and people who help this kids and old people! It was a great day.

After the Charity Run, a small brake with the TV Crew. The TV Crew follow us, and watched how we put up the tent etc.
